Introduction.
TT&T started as an internationally operating translation agency run by Charlotte Friedman. Initially TT&T primarily offered translation, as the original emphasis has always been the translation of technical documents from Dutch to English.
In the meantime, customers from the knowledge sector, from science and technology, water management, and government policy to the education sector, the business sector, national and international public bodies and several long-term European projects have found their way to Charlotte for the execution of a wide variety of translations.
In 2013 Charlotte realized another ambition: she completed an art degree in which she studied the art, craft and design of glass at the IKA in Belgium. As has always been her wish, she now has one foot firmly in the art sector and the other in science and technology.
TT&T now offers translation, unique glass art, whether for the boardroom or a special gift for an employee or business contacts. TT&T still offers training in business language but has expanded into team-building workshops in glass as well as an online shop, the birth of a new community has begun....
The beginning of translations
TT&T was established as a service provider specialized in Technical Translation & Training in 1995. Through the years, the business activities have grown and changed ways that could not have been predicted at the time. TT&T is in fact the answer to Charlotte's personal question:" How do I best bring all my talents to expression so that I can live my life to the max?" Seeking a balance between the various aspects of her personality led to the birth of TT&T in 1995.
Growth through Glass
My art originates in my deepest impulses and is coloured by my cultural and social background. It starts with an idea, an intention to create. At some point, the work is no longer a personal process but starts leading its own life. I then allow the glass to show me the way.
Born in the Netherlands (1960), I spent a better part of 25 years in Africa, where I moved at least 18 times. Boarding school in South Africa was a stable base for secondary education. Botswana was my home. In 1985 I returned to the Netherlands - with a young family – but my 'roots' remain in Africa. My nomadic youth brought me into contact with different cultures and elements of nature in that environment. Themes that still fascinate me to this day.
Once Charlotte completed an art degree in glass, this resulted in a new look at the business activities of TT&T in 2014. Though it might seem a strange combination at first, the cross-disciplinary interaction between art and science is a great place for technology and innovation to be used in unexpected places and for artists to find experimental challenges in innovation – the cutting edge where art and science meet.
Charlotte's clients in the technical business world, the knowledge sector, the pharmaceutical sector and the art community are now able to purchase specialty compounds for various purposes.
